ok, i'm running out of amusing introductions taking advantage of the
hipness and cliche' factor of this being an electronic newsletter, so this
month you just get this boring description instead of a real interesting
meaty intro that makes your mouth water (except you vegetarians, of course).
*IN THIS ISSUE*
- the *UPCOMING GIG* hotline
- summary of gigs you probably *missed* (sob)
- personal dirt about the band
- new music bulletin
- closing statement
the *UPCOMING GIG* hotline
this issue is again surrounding some upcoming gigs that we want, nay *need*,
you all to show up to. without you, we'll end up being tossed in jail after
the santa cruz PD decides that we actually aren't playing "music" and instead
are just begging for money downtown.
without further ado, here are those *two* exciting upcoming gigs...

summary of gigs you probably *missed* (sob)
ok, so in reality, we only had one gig since you last heard from us. most of
the time has been spent with glenn (drummer) and myself (bassboy-jon) moving
into a new house, me going on a 3week tour around europe, rob returning home
to hawaii for 2weeks, and continued work on the new tape. oh yeah, so about
that gig you missed...
we played a graduation party a couple of days after my return from europe,
and happily played quite well, including an improv song which came off quite
well (in most people's opinions even, not just *ours*..). we knew we were on
a roll when the cops got called at 10pm and made us shut down. at that point,
everyone got sent up the hill to the other blowout grad party, leaving us
to track down drivers of various vehicles which decided it was a good game to
play "park the band's cars into the driveway". :}
personal dirt about the band
ok, my last newsletter's comment about rob's hair growing into the shape of
elvis seems to have phased no one, so i'm going to have to create something a
little *shocking* to wake you people up.
sean was seen crooning julio iglesias songs on a late-night tv spanish channel,
surrounding by topless dancers (male and female). we couldn't tell what was
going on since none of us spoke spanish, unfortunately. we did find a couple
of suspicious tassels sticking out of his clothing for a few days, though.
glenn seems to have settled full into his ghoti, bringing up the somewhat
stable-ghoti in the band percentage to 50%. the world is next; it is our
oyster and we are it's crackers.
rob's taken to refusing to play gigs unless he gets a full 3-pounds of
fish meat on ice to sit in before the gig. luckily, through intensive therapy
we were able to trick him (hypnosis does wonders) into thinking this is
actually happening. good thing, since the cost of such fish would certainly
break our bank.
and me, i've been a perfect angel.
new music bulletin
we have changed our mind about releasing just 3 of the new 8 recordings and
are now instead working on finishing up the other songs as well so we can
use just about all of them on the next tape. as always, cd's are available
from us directly (esp at shows) as well as the following record store locations
for $5:
- Beat City - Santa Cruz, CA USA
- Cymbaline - Santa Cruz & Capitola, CA USA
- The Basement - Santa Cruz, CA USA
- The Wherehouse - Capitola, CA USA
- Tower Records - Campbell, CA USA
closing statement
this is the part of the newsletter where we tell you something so deep
and meaningful that it makes your face scrunch up in confusion and your
office-mate thinks you're having some sort of seizure. we've been informed
by our lawyers that this practice is not reccommended for liability reasons,
so henceforth, we will have closing comments with the confusion and excitement
of limp lettuce. as an example, the end of this is exactly the same as the
end of the last newsletter.
