January 26,1999

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: The Other Ones in Cyberspace, February 8th, 7 pm Pacific Time.

Turns out the long strange trip didn't really end and the music didn't stop: The Other Ones tour of 1998 carried Grateful Dead's torch furthur -- and beyond. Their new album, "The Strange Remain," (yes, they do -- they even have fun!) -- will hit your favorite store on February 9th, 2 CD's of dynamite music from old classics like "St. Stephen" to never-before recorded gems like "Banyan Tree."

To celebrate and share a bit of the album with you, members of The Other Ones -- Mickey Hart, Bob Weir, Dave Ellis, Mark Karan, and Steve Kimock are confirmed -- will gather at Sy Klopps Studio on February 8th from 7 pm to 8 pm Pacific Time at www.Dead.net.

They'll be answering questions, they'll be visible and audible through streaming media, you'll hear pieces of the album, and more -- fun and surprises are guaranteed.

More information will be available on Thursday, January 28th at www.dead.net. Starting that day you can submit questions, download a bonus track not on the album, "Mississippi Half-Step," via (legal!) MP3 and LiquidAudio, catch 30 second clips as we count down to February 8th, and get first crack at buying the album (orders will be shipped within three business days -- as much as a week before stores).

Our webcast production and partners include Evolve Internet Solutions, Nocturne, ISP Networks, MP3.com, LiveConcerts.com, and SRAnetworks.com.

Hey, the music's just begun. Don't be left out.
